Yes, I get fake addresses, but I send only around 10 e-mails to the subscribers over a 30-day period anyway, and then stop. If they do not buy by then, very, very few will.

Then I delete the address to keep a clean list.

Hello and thanks for reading 🙂 Totally agree! The goal isn’t to “trick people” into getting on your list. That would just hurt deliverability rates. The goal is to get interested and qualified leads on your list to build stronger relationships over time. And using a double optin is a great way of ensuring that this happens. Thanks again!

I used to be more inclined toward single opt-ins because I know how hard it is for lazy users to go back to their emails to confirm subscriptions. However, thinking about it, anyone who cares about your content and is sure of the value you offer would definitely not mind the double opt-in.

My subscriber list is growing slowly with the same number of supressed subscribers as active ones. I thought I was missing out using double opt in but now I think that, for me, this is the best option. I will be patient and try to attract a quality list of engaged subscribers with some good website content. Thanks for your insight.
